THE COLLABORATION — DROP 01
ART MEETS TEA: ASHLEY N. KINSEY
Upon contemplation of the intersection of tea and art, I thought about the beautiful variety of colors of tea and using those colors as paint. After rummaging through my cabinet full of tea, I pulled a couple options, steeped them and started to paint. I tried several Cs, some splatters, and some drips.
As the process continued to unfold, Procreate and an Apple Pencil were my next medium. I experimented with several brushes and different brush strokes to invoke a painterly C, Cs that represent art, thought, and a welcoming presence. Each C is different and unique like each of us.
The final piece came together after a friend noticed all my Cs clumped together and mentioned how great they would look as a print. C, sometimes we need others in our lives who help bring out the best in our work. The final emphasis being on C for Collaboration. And it was awesome collaborating with CharisTea.
