OUR COMMITMENT TO TRANSPARENCY
We believe you should know what goes into every cup. California law asks businesses to share certain information with the people who enjoy their products, and we’re glad to share it clearly.

ABOUT PROPOSITION 65
Proposition 65, formally the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, requires businesses to provide a warning when a product may expose consumers to chemicals on California’s list of substances known to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.

A Proposition 65 warning is a notice of potential exposure. It does not necessarily mean a product violates any product safety standard or requirement.

WHY OUR TEAS CARRY THIS WARNING
Lead occurs naturally in soil. As tea plants and botanicals grow, they can absorb trace amounts from the earth they’re grown in.

Proposition 65 sets a very low threshold for lead: 0.5 micrograms per day for reproductive harm. As a result, many plant-based foods, including common vegetables and whole grains, may carry a warning in California.

Our teas are crafted from whole-leaf tea and botanicals. We do not add lead or any other listed chemical to our products.

PRODUCTS THIS APPLIES TO
This warning applies to our teas and tea gift sets. Certain non-food items, such as tins, ceramics, or accessories, may carry a separate warning because Proposition 65 also covers materials like metals and glazes.
